The Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 3-2 in 10 innings on Saturday at Wrigley Field, with Pete Crow-Armstrong delivering two home runs in a dramatic walk-off victory. Crow-Armstrong’s game-tying solo shot in the sixth inning tied the game at 1-1, then his two-out, game-tying home run in the ninth forced extra innings before Michael Busch’s single in the tenth drove in the winning run on a Giants error.
Quick Facts
- Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5 with two homers, two RBIs, and two runs scored, extending his hitting streak to 11 games
- Ben Brown pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out five while allowing only one hit
- The Cubs’ eighth walk-off victory of 2026, coming one day after an 18-3 loss to the same Giants team
- Dansby Swanson scored the winning run from second base after Busch’s single to right field
Crow-Armstrong’s first homer came in the sixth inning, moments after Rafael Devers had given the Giants a 1-0 lead with a solo shot. Facing an 0-2 count, Crow-Armstrong launched a 92.5 mph sinker 386 feet into the right-field bleachers to tie the game.
The Giants reclaimed a 2-1 lead in the ninth on Matt Chapman’s sacrifice fly, leaving the Cubs one out away from defeat. But with the bases empty and the season’s momentum seemingly slipping away, Crow-Armstrong stepped into the box against Giants closer Keaton Winn and delivered a game-tying two-run home run that sent Wrigley Field into eruption.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell praised Crow-Armstrong’s clutch performance, noting that his recent heroics have been critical to Chicago’s recent success. “He’s offensively won two of our last three wins,” Counsell said. “It’s incredible.” The center fielder finished with a career-high 11-game hitting streak and delivered his seventh career multi-homer game.
Brown’s pitching kept the Cubs in the game despite the team leaving nine runners on base through seven innings. The right-hander relied heavily on his knuckle curve, which Counsell identified as his best pitch of the day, lowering his season ERA to 1.74.
In the tenth inning, with automatic runner Dansby Swanson at second base, Busch lined a single into right field. Giants right fielder Victor Bericoto charged in but couldn’t field the ball cleanly, allowing Swanson to race home with the winning run.
