While Diesel announced four shows in development at the upfront, Variety confirmed that only one series is in active development at Peacock, with others said to be in various stages of development at Universal TV. The franchise, which began with the 2001 film “The Fast and the Furious,” has grown into a global phenomenon with 11 films released to date and more than $7 billion earned at the worldwide box office. The final film, “Fast Forever,” is scheduled for release in 2028.
