Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty is set to stand trial on July 6, 2026, in Dallas federal court over allegations that he and eight co-defendants kidnapped and robbed fellow rapper Gucci Mane during a studio session in January 2026.
Quick Facts
- Trial begins July 6, 2026, in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas
- Nine defendants total charged, including Pooh Shiesty, his father, and rapper Big30
- Prosecutors allege the incident occurred at a Dallas recording studio on January 10, 2026
- Pooh Shiesty pleaded not guilty to all federal charges in May 2026
Prosecutors allege that Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., orchestrated the armed robbery and kidnapping to force his release from Gucci Mane’s record label, The New 1017 Records. Federal authorities say Shiesty and the other defendants held victims at gunpoint and forced them to surrender valuables and sign documents.
The final pretrial conference is scheduled for July 1, 2026, before Senior U.S. District Judge David Godbey. Shiesty has remained in federal custody since his arrest in April 2026, after a judge denied his release pending trial, finding probable cause for the kidnapping allegations.
