Wyatt Russell praised Sebastian Stan’s performance in Avengers: Doomsday as “amazing” during an interview at the London Disclosure Day premiere, marking the first on-set testimony about the film’s performances as most of the production wraps.
“I can tell you Sebastian is amazing in it,” Russell told Deadline. “I know David’s going to be great in it. We worked a lot on set with everybody, and Florence being on set with them and all the other people that you get to be on. So I’ve had a blast, and I’m excited to be able to see it.”
Russell, who reprises his role as John Walker from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Thunderbolts, revealed that the production is nearing completion. “We have finished most of the filming, and all the stuff is done,” he said. “It’s looking awesome from what I’ve been able to glean. Haven’t seen much, but I’ve seen some of the trailers and stuff. Just doing it was a blast.”
The actor’s enthusiasm echoes similar remarks from co-star David Harbour, who previously described building a “brotherhood” with Stan and Russell on set. Harbour has also spoken highly of the Russo Brothers’ vision for the film, noting he was initially intimidated by the project’s scale but impressed by what he witnessed during production.
Stan plays Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, in his return to the MCU as a de facto leader of the New Avengers. The film brings together the Thunderbolts cast alongside a supersized ensemble that includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, the Fantastic Four, the Fox-era X-Men, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Avengers: Doomsday releases December 18, 2026.
