Netflix has officially confirmed that new episodes of Stranger Things will arrive on the streaming platform this fall, bringing the sci-fi franchise back to viewers for the third major release of 2026.
The new episodes are part of Season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, an animated spinoff that debuted in April 2026. The series was renewed for a second season shortly after its premiere, marking Netflix’s rapid expansion of the Stranger Things universe beyond the main show’s conclusion.
The original Stranger Things wrapped its five-season run across three release windows in late 2025, with the first four episodes arriving on November 26, three more on Christmas Day, and the series finale dropping on New Year’s Eve. The spinoff series takes a new direction, set in the winter of 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and introduces entirely new characters and storylines unrelated to the core cast of the original show.
