Cubs game ends in 10-inning loss to Giants at Wrigley

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Chicago Cubs 2-1 in 10 innings on Sunday at Wrigley Field, handing the Cubs game a heartbreaking extra-inning loss.

Matt Chapman’s single to center field in the top of the 10th inning scored the go-ahead run, as the Giants outlasted the Cubs in a tight pitching duel. The Cubs managed only one run on seven hits, while the Giants scored twice on four hits.

Cubs starter Jameson Taillon exited early after just one inning, walking the leadoff hitter in the top of the second with a left hamstring strain. Despite the early departure, Cubs relievers kept the game competitive, holding the Giants scoreless through nine innings before the decisive 10th-inning breakthrough.
