Alden Ehrenreich wins Tony Award for Broadway debut in Becky Shaw

Alden Ehrenreich won the 2026 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his Broadway debut as Max in Gina Gionfriddo’s revival of Becky Shaw, announced June 7 at the 79th Annual Tony Awards ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.

Ehrenreich, known for his roles in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Marvel’s Ironheart, and Cocaine Bear, earned his first Tony Award in the acclaimed production directed by Trip Cullman. The darkly comic play, a Pulitzer Prize finalist’s work, follows a blind date that spirals spectacularly out of control.

The production closes on June 14 after its limited Broadway run at the Helen Hayes Theater. Ehrenreich’s win marks a remarkable achievement for his stage debut, competing against four other nominees in the featured actor category.
