Rose Byrne nominated for Tony Award tonight for ‘Fallen Angels’ at Radio City Music Hall

Rose Byrne earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her Broadway debut in “Fallen Angels” at the 79th Annual Tony Awards, which took place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The revival of Noël Coward’s 1925 comedy farce received five Tony nominations total, including Best Revival of a Play. Byrne stars opposite Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara in the production, which opened on April 19 at the Todd Haimes Theatre under the direction of Scott Ellis.

Byrne’s Tony nomination comes months after she earned her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Actress for the indie film “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” making her one of the few performers to receive both an Oscar and a Tony nomination in the same year. She also won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Film for that same role earlier in 2026.

The 79th Annual Tony Awards ceremony broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and was hosted by global superstar P!NK.
