Laurie Metcalf won Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman at the 79th Annual Tony Awards on June 7, 2026, marking her third career Tony victory and seventh nomination.
Director Joe Mantello also claimed a win for Best Direction of a Play for the Arthur Miller revival, earning his third career Tony. The production, which opened on Broadway on April 9, 2026, is now among the season’s most decorated shows with nine total nominations.
Metcalf, accepting her award at Radio City Music Hall, reflected on her early theatrical influences. “When I was in college, I met six fellow students in the theatre department. We worked really hard to amuse each other, and I still consider them family—and I still draw on lessons that I learned from them,” she said, naming fellow Steppenwolf Theatre Company founders.
