Pierre Gasly finished 7th at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix despite serving two five-second time penalties during the chaotic race on June 7. The Alpine driver had run higher on the road but dropped down the final classification after the penalties were applied.
The Monaco race saw multiple retirements and dramatic moments, including two Safety Cars brought out by crashes at the final corner of the Circuit de Monaco. Gasly’s penalties were among several handed out during the event to drivers who had infringed pit lane regulations. Kimi Antonelli won the race for Mercedes, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Isack Hadjar.
Gasly’s seventh-place finish came after Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad sealed sixth place ahead of him. The result marked a challenging weekend for Alpine at Monaco, one of Formula 1’s most demanding circuits.
