CBS series cancellations 2026 include Watson, DMV, and The Neighborhood

CBS canceled two scripted series as it finalized its 2026-27 lineup on March 27, 2026: the medical drama Watson and the workplace comedy DMV. Both shows had their series finales air in May, concluding Watson after two seasons and DMV after one.

Watson, which premiered in January 2025 and starred Morris Chestnut, ended its run with a finale on May 3. The sophomore drama had faced ratings challenges in its second season, which aired on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.

DMV, a single-camera comedy set in an East Hollywood Department of Motor Vehicles office and featuring SNL alumni Tim Meadows and Molly Kearney, concluded on May 11 after its freshman season. The show debuted in October 2025 and ranked among CBS’s lowest-rated programs.

The Neighborhood, the network’s long-running sitcom, also ended its run in 2026 after eight seasons. Unlike Watson and DMV, The Neighborhood had been renewed for an eighth and final season in March 2025, with the series finale airing on May 11, 2026, giving the show’s writers time to craft a planned conclusion.
