Mary Fowler returns to the Matildas squad for June friendlies against Mexico after winning both the FA Cup and Women’s Super League title with Manchester City in May 2026.
Fowler and Manchester City defeated Brighton 4-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 31, capping a dominant season for the English club. The victory completed a domestic double after the team secured the WSL championship earlier in the month on May 6.
The Australian forward will link up with the national team for matches against Mexico at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on June 6 and CommBank Stadium in Sydney three days later. Fowler missed recent Matildas games against Malawi and Kenya but returns on the back of her trophy-winning campaign in England. Other notable squad members include Chelsea defender Ellie Carpenter, who is set to reach her 100th cap, and captain Sam Kerr, who recently played her final match for Chelsea.
