Moore, who currently stars on CBS’s S.W.A.T., described returning to the soap where his career began as “coming home.” In an April 7 appearance on the show’s YouTube series Y&R Insider, he reflected on his longtime bond with the series: “To be here at The Young and the Restless, it truly is coming home. They have asked me throughout the years to come visit and play a little bit, and you never say no.”
The actor credited late show creator Bill Bell for launching his 33-year career in entertainment. “Without that moment and without my years here, I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you,” Moore said. “I wouldn’t be blessed with the 33 years that this game has given me.”
Moore’s April return centered on a dramatic family storyline in which Malcolm learned that Stephanie had given birth to their son, Holden, and kept his paternity secret. The June episodes promise to continue that emotional arc, with the soap teasing that Malcolm and Stephanie will settle unfinished business during his stay.
