Comedian David Cross participated in an unconventional ALS awareness campaign in late May, allowing himself to be leashed and walked like a dog by content creator Erin Tatum as part of the #UnleashALS initiative.
Tatum organized the playful stunt to raise awareness and donations for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research. Videos posted to TikTok and Instagram showed Cross on a leash being walked by Tatum, with the caption “casually corrupting @davidcrossofficial donate to ALS research here.”
The campaign directed supporters to donate through the ALS Association’s fundraising platform at iamals.donordrive.com/campaigns/UnleashALS. Tatum emphasized in social media posts that the walk was designed to highlight ALS awareness, noting that “each year the walk gets bigger and that just shows that the walk is helping to raise awareness.”
