  • Songwriters: Gretchen Wilson, Jacob Summers, Krista Marie Oswald, and Sarah Beth Terry
  • Producer: Ryan Nelson (with Gretchen Wilson)
  • First new single in years; echoes her 2004 debut hit “Redneck Woman”

A Message for Everyone

Wilson told Page Six that the new single represents a deliberate shift in perspective. “For 20 plus years, I’ve been looking at guys out in the audience singing, ‘I’m a Redneck Woman,'” she said. “And I was like, ‘One of these days, I have to write something for everybody, not just the women.'” The 52-year-old described the song as “the most trashy, redneck songs available right now” and called it “the song of the summer” when performing it at Country Thunder Florida last month. She added, “This song is really just for anybody and everybody. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, or who you are, or what walk of life [you come from]. If you’ve ever wanted to just get stupid and muddy in the backyard and have a party, this is your song!”

A Rowdy Return to Form

According to All Music Magazine, the track delivers “a rowdy return to form, boot-stompin’, beer-slingin’ ode to unfiltered rural life.” The song paints vivid scenes of rural life with lyrics celebrating creek swimming, country living, and blue-collar pride. Wilson stated in the announcement, “This song is gonna hit listeners exactly the same way Redneck Woman did 20 years ago! But this one isn’t just for the girls… it’s for anybody and everybody who ever wanted to wear a pair of muddy boots and get stupid in the country!” The single arrives as part of Wilson’s continued momentum in the entertainment industry, following her Season 13 victory on Fox’s “The Masked Singer” and her role as tour manager on the CBS series “The Road.”

Re-Recording Her Debut Album

Beyond the new single, Wilson is simultaneously working on a major project: re-recording her breakthrough 2004 debut album “Here for the Party” as a star-studded duets album. Page Six reports that confirmed collaborators include Tanya Tucker on “Redneck Woman” and Cody Johnson on “When I Think About Cheating,” with Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, and Ella Langley rumored to be participating. The duets project will be released through her own Redneck Records label, continuing her independent approach to her music career.
