Phoebe Lunny’s Serious Injury Forces Festival Cancellation
Phoebe Lunny, the guitarist and vocalist of the Brighton noise-punk duo, revealed the extent of her injuries in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 8. “Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury,” she wrote directly to fans.
The injury occurred while Lambrini Girls was touring Australia, but the severity wasn’t immediately recognized. “The incident was initially misdiagnosed, leading to delayed treatment,” according to the band’s announcement. Medical professionals have now ordered strict recovery protocols that make performing impossible.
Recovery Timeline and Tour Rescheduling Details
Doctors have mandated that Lunny cannot fly or perform for at least six weeks, a timeline that directly conflicts with the band’s previously scheduled tour dates. This decision forced Lambrini Girls to make the difficult choice to abandon their Coachella appearance scheduled for this weekend’s festival.
The band emphasized that all American headline dates have been completely rescheduled rather than canceled. New US tour dates now begin June 16 at Warsaw in Brooklyn, with additional shows scheduled through October. Their UK and EU dates starting late May remain unaffected and will proceed as originally planned.
Lambrini Girls’ 2026 Tour Dates
The rescheduled North American tour kicks off in June and extends through the fall, offering fans multiple opportunities to see the punk band live. Key venues include Warsaw in Brooklyn, Paradise Rock Club in Boston, and stops in Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, and Atlanta.
| Month | City/Venue | Date |
| June | Brooklyn, NY at Warsaw | June 16 |
| June | Boston, MA at Paradise Rock Club | June 17 |
| September/October | Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Atlanta, Asheville | Sept 27 to Oct 5 |
“Because it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now, but I’m lucky and expect a speedy recovery.”
— Phoebe Lunny, Lambrini Girls vocalist
Band’s Message to Fans Amid Tour Disruption
Lunny addressed those affected by the cancellation with both honesty and resolve. She wrote to American ticket holders, acknowledging the disappointment while emphasizing the band’s core mission of activism and community resistance.
“Making space for subversion and resistance is at the core of what this band is about,” she continued. The Consequence Music Awards recognized Lambrini Girls as Rookie of the Year for 2025, honoring their breakthrough debut album “Who Let the Dogs Out.” Lunny remains optimistic about recovery, saying if her injury were “just a broken leg, I would do a Dave Grohl and play it,” referencing the Foo Fighters frontman’s legendary 2015 performance from a custom throne.
What Comes Next for Lambrini Girls and Coachella Lineup?
The Brighton duo’s absence from Coachella 2026 left a significant gap in the festival lineup. Jack White, the former White Stripes frontman, has stepped in to fill Lambrini Girls’ Saturday afternoon Mojave Tent slot, ensuring the festival keeps its momentum.
Fans holding tickets to the original US tour dates should monitor the band’s official website and social media for specific rescheduling information and refund policies. The band’s resilience and commitment to eventually delivering their energetic punk performances has provided hope that these postponed dates will happen as soon as Phoebe Lunny achieves full medical clearance.
