Katey Sagal and Kurt Sutter are taking their collaboration off-screen with a new choral theater piece headed to Hollywood this spring. The couple, both known for high-profile television work, have reunited creative forces for Khorus Harmonia, a roughly hour-plus live show that will also raise money for two charities.
Katey Sagal devised and will lead the project while Sutter handles the book and staging. The musical arrangements and choral direction are by Steven Argila, and ticket revenues will support the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights and the Wounded Warrior Project.

From studio work to center stage
Music has long been a throughline in Sagal’s career. Before becoming a familiar television presence, she worked as a vocalist for major artists and toured with the Harlettes, Bette Midler’s backing group, recording in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She released her solo debut, Well, in 1994 and later albums including Room (2004) and Covered (2014). Sagal currently appears in the Netflix series One Piece.
Sutter brings a heavy television pedigree to the collaboration. He created and produced gritty dramas such as The Shield and Sons of Anarchy and has gone on to develop new projects, including an MGM+ series titled Times of Raff and an outlaw-biker drama, Nomad, which he co-created with Chris Collins and that is set to star Jason Momoa.
For both creators, the project is part artistic experiment and part community-building effort. Sagal has said music gives her a sense of grounding during difficult times, and Sutter has long pushed to test the limits of form and genre.
Why this matters now
Beyond celebrity appeal, the show reflects two current trends: performers translating media visibility into live events, and artists using those platforms to support social causes. For Los Angeles audiences it’s a chance to see a short, curated choral performance led by well-known creatives while contributing to organizations focused on immigrant rights and veterans’ services.
If you’re considering attending, expect an intimate, music-forward evening rather than a large-scale Broadway-style production. Seats are limited and early performances often move quickly when names like Sagal and Sutter are attached, so prospective attendees should check ticket availability soon.
