Grammy Winners and Legends Take Center Stage at French Quarter Fest

PJ Morton, a Grammy Award-winning New Orleans native, is headlining the festival on the Abita Beer Stage at Berger Great Lawn. The legendary pianist’s return comes after 12 years away. But PJ isn’t the only major draw. Soul legend Irma Thomas, bounce star Big Freedia, R&B icon Bobby Rush, and George Porter Jr. are delivering unforgettable sets.

The Abita Beer Stage also features Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers, Dawn Richard, The Soul Rebels, and Irvin Mayfield. Each headliner brings decades of experience celebrating New Orleans’ deep musical roots. The lineup perfectly captures why this festival earned the title of the nation’s largest free music celebration.

New Riverfront Location Opens Fresh Music Venues and Views

French Quarter Fest 2026 launched something entirely new this year: an expansive riverfront experience at Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park. Located at Governor Nicholls Wharf, the setup gives festivalgoers green space along the Mississippi River to dance and enjoy live performances. Two major stages anchor this vibrant addition.

The Jack Daniel’s Stage at the riverfront hosts Irma Thomas, Bobby Rush, Big Freedia, and Cupid and the Dance Party Express. The Pan-American Life Insurance Group Stage features Bill Summers and Jazalsa plus exciting debuts by Leyla McCalla and Stanton Moore. This fresh location offers a completely different vibe from the traditional French Quarter streets.
