Louder Than Life 2026: My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Limp Bizkit, Tool to headline

This fall’s Louder Than Life returns to Louisville for a four-day gathering that stacks stadium-caliber headliners with rare reunion shows and genre-spanning billings. Taking place Sept. 17–20 at the Kentucky Expo Center, the festival promises marquee sets from long-running acts while delivering a slate of one-off appearances that could reshape summer concert plans for rock fans.

The event’s top names read like a who’s who of heavy music: Iron Maiden, My Chemical Romance, Limp Bizkit and Tool will each close a night, while dozens of additional bands share seven stages across the festival footprint. Promoter Danny Wimmer Presents calls this the largest lineup in the festival’s history, a claim reflected in both the quantity of acts and the variety of stage pairings.

Date Main headliners Notable supporting acts
Sept. 17 Iron Maiden, Pantera, Megadeth Festival-opening metal heavyweights and rare appearances
Sept. 18 My Chemical Romance Pierce the Veil, A Day to Remember
Sept. 19 Limp Bizkit Papa Roach, Sublime
Sept. 20 Tool Gojira, Danny Elfman

Several factors make this edition notable beyond the headline names. The appearance by Pantera is billed as their only U.S. performance for the year, while Megadeth’s set will be part of the band’s closing-run schedule. Organizers are also highlighting a string of reunion appearances from bands such as Circa Survive and Metal Church, offering fans rare opportunities to see acts that have not toured together in years.

Saturday’s lineup has been positioned as particularly significant: the promoter says it includes one of the most extensive collections of female-fronted rock and metal acts ever assembled at a major U.S. festival. That roster spans veteran hard-rockers and genre-blending performers, signaling a push toward broader representation on the main stage.

  • All-female-fronted and women-led acts: Halestorm, In This Moment, Lindsey Stirling, Orianti, Icon for Hire, Kami Kehoe, Diamante
  • Reunions: Circa Survive, Get Scared, Blood For Blood, Metal Church, Primer 55, Sent by Ravens, 40 Below Summer
  • Anniversary performances: Jimmy Eat World, Sleeping With Sirens, Red, Alien Ant Farm, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Beyond those highlights, the broader bill mixes legacy metal and punk with newer alternative and post-hardcore names. Expect sets from The Prodigy, BABYMETAL, Rise Against, Alice Cooper, Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria, Sabaton, The Pretty Reckless and many more, spread across seven stages that will run throughout each festival day.

Festivalgoers will also get access to amusement rides — Kentucky Kingdom will be open exclusively for pass-holders during the event — turning the site into a combined music-and-theme-park experience. Organizers describe the setup as an attempt to blend live music, local food and Louisville’s signature bourbon culture into a single multi-day attraction.

What this means for fans: a rare chance to catch legacy acts on potentially final tours, several reunion sets that may not be repeated soon, plus a deeper-than-usual lineup of women-fronted groups on a major rock bill. For planning, note the dates and the scale of the event; with more than 200 bands, overlapping set times are inevitable and advance scheduling will help attendees prioritize must-see performances.

Tickets and detailed scheduling are available through the festival’s official website and authorized ticketing partners. Expect multiple pass tiers, single-day options and bundled access that includes the Kentucky Kingdom offerings.
