Landmines aren't funny. April Fool's Day, however provided the perfect opportunity for artist and activist Will St. Leger, who placed one hundred fake landmines around public parks in Dublin, Ireland. According to the artist, the stenciled enamel plates were designed to "get people asking themselves 'what if the world I walked in was littered with landmines?'"
Most of the mines are now gone, thanks to one easily duped tourist reported the objects to the police. "I wondered who the people of Laos, Cambodia and Iraq are gonna call when they step on a real landmine," Will St. Leger questions in response.
