Provocative Polish artist Peter Fuss is back with a new pair of guerrilla billboards. Each monochrome board is wallpapered with 36 depictions of an US one-dollar bill, with the text “reasons are still the same” pasted in loud, bold type across the rightmost panel.
Fuss has pushed political buttons with his past work, which includes a cross created from layers of living maggots (picture a blasphemous larval ant farm), and a massive mural of an assassinated Barack Obama.
“Peter Fuss illegally puts up his works on billboards as a way to make a bitter comment on the reality surrounding him. He is not afraid to speak his mind on social taboo subjects. In his works, he examines and evaluates the present. With characteristic means, namely simple and clear form, he comments on politics, the relationships between religion and authority, flashy religiosity, social problems and art.” (Zero Zer Gallery)
