VOINA calls for activist art, Berlin Biennale

The Russian activist political art collective Voina Group, is inviting artists to participate in the 7th Berlin Biennale.

Rejecting what they describe as “limitation in age, education, nationality, political views etc. for participants of the Biennale”, Voina wants history to decide what is great art.  The group will mount an exhibition of outsider art on their website as part of their contribution to the 7th Berlin Biennale.

Proposed art work must fit into the following genres of protest street art: a) innovative graffiti; b) radical street installation; c) provocative performance/action in a public space. Proposals (photo and video documentalization) should be sent to the Voina Group (a@plutser.ruplucer@free-voina.org) by July 1, 2012. They will be displayed as a part of the Berlin Biennale on the group’s blog.
