Montreal illustrator Ben Tardif depicts the casseroles, the nightly pot-clanging protests that challenge the legitimacy of the Quebec government. The ruling Liberal party’s planned university tuition hike — and the implementation of a repressive “emergency law” designed to stifle dissent — has led to massive street demonstrations and over 2500 arrests.
Earlier today, The Guardian published a good overview of the casseroles and the situation that precipitate it.
Aside from his wonderful illustration work, Ben Tardif is also the art director at Les Éditions de Ta Mère, a small literary press, that also supports the student-led political movement.
