Obama by Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey, creator of the omnipresent Obama posters blanketing the American northeast, has raised over $700,000 for the Obama campaign through the sale of his work. In this Current TV video, Fairey discusses the recent shift in his work from negative to positive imagery.

“The coup of an idealist like Obama getting as far along as he has is extremely positive and I don’t need to take a negative approach to this election, which has been my usual approach out of necessity”

Watch out—the mainstream media is slowly catching on, albeit a day to late. CBS ran a news piece on Shepard Fairey Wednesday.

Very interesting. And one of the most exceellent impacts from this campaign I’ve seen yet. I’ve seen these posters all over Brooklyn and manhattan but never realized they were Shepard Fairey. But now it makes sense
