The London Book Project wants London commuters to read literature. Most especially, they want London commuters to read literature rather than those crap-filled “free” dailies that are given away in the subway systems of most urban centers.
Fifteen journalists have come together to distribute thousands of books into the London tram system over a two week period. Commuters are encouraged to pick the books up wherever they find them, read them, and exchange them. The organizers hope to turn the London subway system into a giant free library.
Sounds like a great idea that should be copied wherever “free” dailies are distributed.
