The Beehive Collective is Set to Swarm Your Town

There's nothing quite so threatening as a loud, pulsing swarm of bees. (With the possible exception of AFRICOM.) The Beehive Collective, a radical design collective rooted in America's rural northeast, is taking their status-quo defying show on the road once again, having just announced new tour dates across North America. (And one stop in Germany, presumably to stock up on malted hops and strudel.)

These maverick muralists are on perpetually on the road, this time presenting Dismantling Monoculture: Tales of Ants and Economics in The Americas. Available in English or Spanish, these artists deliver a multimedia presentation designed to impress:

“With three giant illustrated portable murals, a six foot tall fabric storybook 'slideshow', and an engaging narrative, the Bees take audiences on an interactive visual tour of the connections between colonization, militarization, and resources extraction in the Americas. We will be exposing the agendas of the Free Trade Area of the Americas, Plan Colombia, and celebrating resistance to the 'Plan Puebla Panama' in Mesoamerica. Join in as we deconstruct the complex and overwhelming issues that are shaping our world, using bioregionally accurate depictions of animals and insdects as metaphors to link cultural and ecological diversity.”
