Guerrilla radio stations take notice: Rage Against the Machine is officially back. Seven years after parting ways, the political rap-rock heavyweights first confirmed rumors of a reunion when they announced they would be performing at California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Now they've confirmed a full blown (albeit short) tour, performing several dates alongside the reunited Wu-Tang Clan as part of the Rock the Bells festival.
Some censorship related trivia: In the days after 9/11, corporate culture vultures Clear Channel drafted list of “songs with questionable lyrics”, which were deemed unsuitable for airplay on Clear Channel's 1000+ radio stations. The 165 blacklisted songs included every recording by Rage Against the Machine. A true privilege, indeed.
