After two years of review, the folks at Creative Commons have issued their new licenses version 3.0. Highlights include: the creation of an American license separate from the generic international license; ensuring that licenses have consistent, explicit treatment of moral rights (subject to national differences); a “no endorsement” clause making it clear that use of material is not an endorsement by its author; compatability provision to allow remixing of separately licensed materials; and the always popular language clarification provisions. Check it out and tell your friends and Disney.
